ISM50 is a history with one author, and this form is the one way to reach it. It is for information about the record. It is not a service business: nothing here is for sale and there is nothing to book.

Four kinds of message are useful, and each of them makes the history better.

  • A correction to an article. A date, a name, a figure or an attribution that is wrong. Name the article and quote the sentence.
  • A factual error. Something stated as settled that the record does not support, or a claim that is contested and was not named as contested.
  • A question about a source. Where a quotation comes from, why a document was chosen over another, or what a dead link used to say.
  • A note about the history. A primary source that has surfaced, an archive that holds something the piece missed, or an account from someone who was there.

If you have a document, say where it can be found rather than describing it from memory. The form takes text only and no attachments.

The site cannot help with a decision about money or with your own circumstances, and nothing on it is guidance for either. What this site is not says so at length, and the about page says who writes it.

Before you send

Replies are not guaranteed. A correction that checks out is made on the page, with the change noted, whether or not a reply goes out.

For a correction or a question about a source, name the article and quote the sentence.

The message goes to a small script in the site owner's own Google account, which emails it to him and keeps a record in a private Google Sheet. No third party form service sees it. How ISM50 handles your information.
